I think we've finally found the perfect plant for our hot, dry, sunny summers in Boulder. Calibrachoas are a new type of plant that look like small petunias and are frequently mislabeled as such. Often referred to as Petunia Million Bells, they can produce hundreds of 1 inch flowers from early spring until frost. They are both cold and heat tolerant, and spring back even after a heavy downpour.
These compact, mounded annuals grow 6 to 9 inches tall on mostly trailing stems.
Unlike petunias, they don't need to be deadheaded and pinching back their stems is not required. Read More
